I'm a small town girl raised in the city of Mendota. I grew up in a house of bakers. My mother was known for her cakes. She made wedding cakes, baptism, birthday, Baby shower, divorce you name it she baked it. My grandmother was diabetic so unfortunately we grew up smelling cake However, we weren't allowed to eat it. So my grandmother, Carmelita created her own recipe, Pan de Leche. A very light sweetened delicious bread. Her bread became very famous amongst friends and family. At a very young age I learned how to bake her recipe just by watching. That recipe one day put me through school. Many out in the rual areas would order Carmelita's bread and became very familiar with the product. Years later this very recipe helped me through some very tough times. Presently, Carmelita's Pan Casero is very happy to serve 40 locations in 10 different cities.
